Air Arabia flights in Calicut-Sharjah sector from Feb 22

Kozhikode, Feb 13 (UNI) Sharjah-based budget-airliner Air Arabia (AA) will commence flight operations in Calicut-Sharjah sector from February 22.

AA Director (Operations and Maintenance) Capt Mohammed Ahammed informed the Malabar Chamber of Commerce (MCC) that arrangements for launching the service from Calicut Airport had already been completed, an MCC release said here today.

The proposed A320 flights, on Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays, scheduled to leave Sharjah at 0945 hrs would land here at 1315 hrs, the release said.

In its return leg, the flight would leave Calicut at 1415 hrs and land in Sharjah at 1745 hrs.

Capt Ahammed, who held a meeting with officials of MCC and Calicut Airport Committee this morning, said the airlines also proposed to make it a daily service from this June.

More foreign airlines, including Emirates and Ithihad, were expected to launch operations from Calicut International Airport soon following granting of travel permit by the Union Government.
