Man commits suicide in police station

Ahmedabad, Feb 12 (UNI) A person, arrested in connection with an alleged murder case, committed suicide inside a police station in Narmada District early today, police said.

They said the accused Balkabhai Trikambhai Vasava (45), lodged in Garedeshwar police station, hanged himself using his shawl inside a room in the police station.

The victim and two of his relatives, arrested by police last week in connection with murder of Manubhai Tadvi, were confined to a room in the police station as it did not have a lock up.

They were in police custody for the last four days.

Vasava ended his life early this morning when the other two alleged accused were fast asleep, they said.

The body of Vasava was shifted to Rajpipla Civil hospital for postmortem, they added.
