One dead, 13 injured in collison of jeeps

Moga, Feb 11 (UNI) A 65-year-old man died while 13 people were injured when two jeeps, one carrying marriage revellers, collided on Moga Jalandhar Road near here, police today said.

Baldev Singh of Dasuya died on the spot while 13 others ---eight of Sekhakalan village of Moga district and five from Dasuya--- were injured in the head-on collision late last night.

One of the seriously injured, Harjinder Singh of Sekhakalan who was driving one of a jeep involved in the accident, was reffered to CMC Ludhiana.

According to police information, both the vehicles were damaged badly in the accident.

Police suspected that the driver of the vehicle in which six persons returning from a marriage party were travelling, was apparently under the influence of liquor and could not control the vehicle, leading to the accident.
