No plan to impose tax on pet dogs in 2007-08 or 2008-09: MCD

New Delhi, Feb 11 (UNI) Leader of the House in the Municipal Corporation of Delhi Subhash Arya today said the MCD had no plan to impose a tax on pet dogs during this financial year or the next.

In a statement here, shortly after the MCD House passed the revised budget estimates for the Financial Year 2008-09, Mr Arya clarified that ''the Municipal Corporation of Delhi is not going to impose tax on pet dogs either during the current Financial year i.e 2007-08 or during the next financial year i.e, 2008-09''.

''Tax on pet dogs is not being imposed by the MCD for the last 18 years since 1990,''Mr Arya said.

The MCD House today passed a Rs 5300 crore budget for the financial year 2008-09 including a number of sops clearly incorporated in the budget with an eye on the coming assembly polls in Delhi.
