UNPA to hold protest in Parliament on Feb 26
Sampla, Feb 10 (UNI) UNPA has decided to hold a massive protest demonstration inside and outside of Parliament House on February 26 to demand waiving off of all farmers loan in the country and remunerative prices for farmers produce, UNPA leader and INLD President Om Prakash Chautala said here today.
Addressing a massive rally at Sampla town in Rohtak district today, he said that Left parties have also been requested to participate in this protest.
The National Commission on Farmers, (Swaminathan Commission) in its final report submitted in November 2006, had recommended that the minimum support prices be fixed for ensuring a net income of 50 per cent over and above the production costs of different crops.
All other UNPA leaders including former Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister and Samajwadi Party chief Mr Mulayam Singh Yadav, former Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandra Babu Naidu, National Conference leader and former Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Dr Farookh Abdullah, former Jharkhand Chief Minister Babu Lal Marandi, and General Secretary of Samajwadi Party Amar Singh also launched scathing attack on Congress Government and its anti farmers policies.
