Lankan woman prisoner dies of ill health

Chennai, Feb 10 (UNI) An elderly Sri Lankan woman, arrested and lodged in Puzhal Central Prison in a narcotics case, died due to ill health at a government Hospital here today.

Police said Sumana Kausalya (66) was arrested in 2005 for allegedly smuggling ganja and was lodged in Vellore Central prison.

She was shifted to Puzhal Central Prison here a month ago.

She was suffering from an ailment for some time, the police added.
