CPI to pressure UPA Govt in Budget Session on price hike
Hyderabad, Feb 10 (UNI) CPI National Secretary S Sudhakara Reddy, today said the party would exert pressure on the UPA Government to take steps to control price rise of essential commodities, during the Budget Session.
Addressing the press along with the State Secretary K Narayana, he claimed that the UPA Government has failed to control rise in prices of essential commodities.
The party which was opposing Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) in the retail sector would take up the issue in the session.
Mr Reddy said the government should take steps to protect the existing banks instead of planning to merge them.
The party's national conference would be held here from March 23 to 27 and various issues, including economic and political, would be discussed.
The state unit would launch the land struggle in Andhra Pradesh from March next, he added.
