Naga Hoho appeals to Governor to ensure peace before election
Kohima, Feb 9 (UNI) The Naga Hoho has appealed to the Governor to bring down the political volatility and ensure normalcy in the state till the coming Assembly election.
In a statement here today, Naga Hoho president I Bendangmayang Jamir expressed concern over the worsening law and order situation following the imposition of President's Rule in the state.
It was the paramount duty of the Union Government and the Governor to control the social turmoil and ensure maintenance of democratic values in the state.
He also said the Hoho was fully convinced that at the present situation, the imposition of the President's Rule in the state would only further ignite political volatility in the state.
He said this had been communicated to the Centre and the State Government even before the promulgation of President's Rule in the state.
