MARG registers 52 per cent hike in Q3

Chennai, Feb 5 (UNI) MARG Ltd, one of India's fastest growing diversified infrastructure development company registered an income of Rs 68.15 crore for the third quarter ended on December 31 2007, an increase by over 52 per cent against the corresponding quarter in the last fiscal year.

The total income for the period stood at Rs 161.58 crore as against the Rs 100.17 crore noted at the end of Q3, 2006, a company release said here today.

The net PAT was Rs 13.32 crore, for the third quarter of 2007-08, an increase of 16.84 per cent.

The net PAT for the nine months period ended December 31, 2007 was Rs 28.01 crore as against Rs 24.43 crore for the nine months ended December 31, 2006.

The company recently changed its name from MARG Constructions Ltd to MARG Ltd.

Ongoing projects of Marg included development of an all weather deep-water lagoon type sea port in Karaikal, which would unleash the potential of the hinterland and also cater to the industrial belt of central Tamil Nadu.

The company's Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV) recently received approval for establishment of two SEZs in Tamil Nadu, located at Seekinakuppam, midway between Chennai and Pondicherry and 45 kms from Siruseri near Chennai.

Out of the two SEZs, one would be for light engineering including auto ancillary business segments and the other would cater to the multi services sector, the release added.
