Industry Ministry grants export house status to SMT Machines

Fatehgarh Sahib, Feb 4 (UNI) the Union Commerce and Industry ministry has accorded Export House status to Mandi Gobindgarh-based SMT Machines Limited, Surinder Mittal, Managing Director of SMT Group said here today.

Mr Mittal told reporters here that his group has been recognised as Export House with the provisions of the Foreign Trade Policy, 2004-2009 from April 1, 2007 to March 31, 2009, as per export performance by the companies of the group for the last consecutive three years.

The group is doing turnkey steel mill projects in 17 countries and most of them are Greenfield projects with end to end solutions of melting furnaces and fully automatic bar and section rolling mills, he saide.

He informed that the group has ambitious projects in the pipeline for which it has acquired sufficient land for setting up new allied projects under foreign collaboration.
