PCC chief acknowledges prevalence of Telangana sentiment
Hyderabad, Feb 1 (UNI) Acknowledging that the Telangana sentiment was very much prevalent, Andhra Pradesh Congress Committee acting president G S Rao today maintained that no disciplinary action was warranted against Congress Parliamentary Party Deputy leader G Venkataswamy for airing his views in public.
''The issue is in the hands of party president Sonia Gandhi,'' he told a press conference here.
Mr Venkataswamy had only made an appeal to Ms Gandhi to take an early decision on the issue, while acknowledging the development ushered in by the Rajasekhara Reddy government, he said.
It may be noted that Congress leaders in the state were freely airing their views in public even after the party high command had asked partymen to raise issues only in party fora.
