New Delhi to host second India-Russia trade and investment forum

Moscow, Jan 31 (UNI) The second India-Russia forum on trade and investment will be held in New Delhi on February 12-13.

Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and his counterpart Viktor Zubkov will participate in the inauguration ceremony of the forum, Itar-Tass news agency reported.

The first meeting of the business forum in February 2007 showed the growing interest of Russian companies to enter the Indian market, particularly in the energy sector, metallurgy, car making and aircraft industries, the transfer of high technologies, military-technical cooperation and the development of infrastructure facilities.

The forum will highlight the discussion on the prospects of implementing new joint projects in these fields of economy and some conditions for higher effectiveness of the already established business relations between companies and regions of the two countries and the building of international relations between small and medium business.

About 500 delegates from Russia and India are expected to participate in the forum, including chief executives of large national companies, business organisations and regional authorities, as well as independent experts.
