MP Private Univ (Amendment) Act to be tabled in next budget session
Bhopal, Jan 30 (UNI) The Madhya Pradesh Private University (Amendment) Act, 2008, has been approved by the state government at its cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan here today.
According to officials, the Act would be tabled during the next assembly session. The Act came into effect on June 1, 2007. Section 36 (8) of the Act provided for a regulatory commission for effectively controlling private universities.
An amendment was effected in this section fixing tenure of person appointed as chairman of the regulatory commission to five years or attaining 75 years of age, whichever was earlier.
The cabinet approved appointment to 155 vacant posts in the State Legal Services Authority. This included 19 posts of the district legal officers.
