Karnataka Govt to distribute 4-lakh bicycles to girl students
Bangalore, Jan 30 (UNI) Karnataka Government would distribute four lakh bicycles worth about Rs 90 crore to girl students upto Standard VIII this year as a new year gift, state Governor Rameshwar Thakur said today.
Speaking after distributing 140 bicycles to the students in a function organised at Rajbhavan here, Mr Rameshwar said both the Government and the aided schools students will derive the benefit.
The Governor said the scheme would also be extended to boy students and also for students in schools run by Urban Local Body.
