CMPDI CMD nominated as co-chairman of coal sub-commtt of M2M

Ranchi, Jan 30 (UNI) Chairman-cum-Managing Director of Central Mine Planning and Design Institute limited (CMPDI) A K Singh, has been nominted as member and co-chairman of coal sub-committee of Methane to Markets (M2M) by the Coal ministry.

According to an official release issued here today Mr Singh will represent the country in this sub-committee.

The M2M is an international initiative by United States Environment Protection Agency (US EPA) with an objective to recover and utilize methane emitted through various sources including agriculture, coal minning and landfill so as to mitigate its adverse effect on the environment.

India was one of the 14 founder partnership countries of M2M and at present there were 21 member countries in this initiative.
