Shasun Chemicals to set up new facility in US

Chennai, Jan 28 (UNI) Shasun Chemicals and Drugs Ltd, a leading Indian CRAMS and API exporting pharmaceutical company, today announced that it would set up a process development facility at Piscataway in the US.

The facility would provide direct Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients (APIs) development services in the pre-clinical and clinical trial stages to customers in North America and extend backend support to the CRAMS partners in the same geography, a company release here said.

This development would further enhance and expand Shasun Chemical's current capacity to provide global clients a seamless range of services from cutting R and D to large scale manufacture and analytical development.

As Piscataway was situated at the heart of emerging markets, it would help Shasun Chemicals to expand the offering to existing clients and attract new clients with a broad range of leading expertise and technologies.

The first phase of the new facility would be operational from April 2008 and it represented significant investment in terms of both long-term financial commitment and creation of almost 50 highly skilled jobs. The entire project would be completed by October 2009, the release added.
