Arms and ammunition recovered in Bihar
Gaya, Jan 27(UNI) A huge cache of sophisticated arms and ammunition was recovered from a criminal hideout inside Jhurang forest near Fatehpur here.
Superintendent of Police Amit Kumar Jain today informed that acting on a tip off a special police team raided the yesterday hideout and seized three rifles, nine carbines, two cane bombs, ten detonators, about 100 metre gelatine wires and a cellphone besides several rounds of live cartridges from the spot.
No one could be arrested as the gang fled seeing the approaching policemen,the SP said adding, that however, raids were on to nab them.
It was suspected that the gang had assembled at the hideout to carry out an operation on the Republic day yesterday.
