LJP releases list of candidates for Meghalaya Assembly elections
Shillong, Jan 26 (UNI) The Lok Janshakti Party (LJP) today released the first list of its candidates for eleven constituencies for the upcoming Assembly elections in Meghalaya.
The eleven LJP candidates included three women. Ms Irene Hujon, a former leader of the Civil Society Women's Organisation, will contest the polls from the Laban constituency.
A single-phase election of the 60-seat Assembly will be held on March 3. The counting will be held on March 7.
The filing of nomination papers will begin on February 8 and close on February 15. The last date for withdrawal of nomination is February 18.
The LJP has no MLA or any representative in any local body in Meghalaya.
