Famous directors, stars to attend Chandigarh Film Fest
Chandigarh, Jan 23 (UNI) Film celebrities including director Shyam Benegal, M S Sathyu and Madhur Bhandarkar and actresses Hema Malini, Nafisa Ali will attend the Chandigarh Film Festival to be held from February 1 to 4 in the city.
Mr Anil Sharma, Mr Sohail Khan, Mr Nausheed and Pammi Somal were among others who would be present at the film fest which would showcase a variety of films including contemporary, classical, popular and children's movies.
International films constituting Hungarian films including 'Relatives', 'The Eighth Day of the Week' and 'Guarded Secrets', Iranian films 'Twilight' and 'Avinar', French film 'By the Pricking of My Thumb' and a Croatian film 'What is a Man without a Moustache' and Austrian film 'Other Side of the Bridge' will be shown during the festival.
The films to be screened during the festival also include films like Bhumika, Junoon and Zubeida by noted director Shyam Benegal, Garam Hawa by renowned director M S Sathyu and Madhur Bhandarkar's Corporate, Traffic Signal and Page 3 and other new age films like Chak De India, Mr and Mrs Iyer, The Blue Umbrella.
Keeping in view the choices of the little audiences, children's movie including Gilli Gilli Atta, Heda Hoda, Chutkan Ki Mahabharata and Chakkad Bakkad Bumbi Bo and animated films will also be shown during the festival.
Certain films which have been shot partly or completely in and around Chandigarh namely Apne, Mummyji and Mitti Wajan Mardi will also be screened.
The venues for the screening of the films are PGI Auditorium, Fun Republic, Kiran Cinema and Museum Auditorium.
Chandigarh Film Festival 2008 is being organised by the UT Administration in association with UT Tourism, STEPS, Children's Film Society of India, National Film Development Corporation, Confederation of Indian Industries, Fun Republic, Kiran Cinema and Chandigarh Film Society.
