Court fines man accused of sending obscene SMS
New Delhi, Jan 23 (UNI) Metropolitian magistrate Kiran Bansal today ordered the release of a man accused of sending obscene Short Message Service (SMS) to a woman but imposed a fine of Rs 3000 on him.
However, she said the accused, Amit Kumar Singh, has to show good conduct for one year.
An FIR under section 509 of Indian Penal Code (IPC) was registered against Amit Kumar Singh on April 17,2006 for sending obscene Short Message Service (SMS) to Anupama Vohra.
Singh today pleaded before the court saying his examinations are on. The court imposed a fine of Rs 3000 on him and released him on the condition that he has to show good conduct for one year.
