2 wanted criminals killed in encounter
Jaunpur, Jan 21 (UNI) The Special Operation Group (SOG) of Uttar Pradesh police in a joint operation with city police gunned down two history-sheeters in Line Bazar area here today.
Working on a tip-off, cops cordoned off the Newada village. On being challenged the notorious criminals opened fire.
In the ensuing encounter, two criminals, identified as Brijmohan Singh and Roshan Singh, were killed.
A army hand grenade, 9mm pestol and a large number of cartridges were recovered from the spot, SP Lalji Shukla said.
The duo wanted in almost 11 cases of murder, loot and dacoity.
