Kalam advocates setting up of more neuroscience centres
Bangalore, Jan 19 (UNI) Former President A P J Abdul Kalam today advocated setting up of more centres on the lines of National Brain Research Centre at Manesar in Haryana to take up advanced research in neuroscience.
Inaugurating the Neuroscience Institute at BGS Hospital here, he said such centres would help young Indian neuroscientists a chance to excel and make a mark for themselves in the field of neuroscience provide a chance.
''It is disturbing that autism is on the rise in the country. It is a complex developmental disability, which affects the brain.
Scientists are trying to find out an integrated solution using software and hardware application,'' he said.
For providing better care to children with autism, Mr Kalam said the autism care centres in India and abroad should launch a tele-broadcasting system to establish a link with the houses, where the children-affected with autism live.
