''E-governance'' in Bihar by April-08 : Modi
Patna, Jan 19 (UNI) Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Sushil Kumar Modi today said the E-Governance would become a reality in the state by April-2008.
The process of computerisation of records and system for disposing of the matter at government offices was being carried out in full swing.
While reviewing the computerisation works, being carried out by Tata Consultancy Services(TCS) here, Mr Modi said the company had been assigned to complete the related works under six schemes, incurring the total expenditure of Rs 160 crore.
'' Comprehensive Treasury Information Service, Bihar on line - Bihar State Wide Area Network, Integrated Workflow and Document Management and Brain Data Centre are among the six schemes assigned to TCS, '' Mr Modi said adding the grievances of the people would be addressed fast, once the dream of E-governance becomes a reality.
The system of E-governance would be tested on experimental basis in February itself, he added.
'' In first phase, the E-governance would be introduced at Chief Minister's secretariat, Office of Chief Secretary, Finance department, Home, Urban Development, Law and Industries department, '' Mr Modi informed and said the system of the E-governance would be introduced at block level throughout the state by April 1, 2008.
