APCC hails govt on land distribution programme
Hyderabad, Jan 19 (UNI) Andhra Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) today hailed the Andhra Pradesh government under the leadership of the Chief Minister Y S Rajsekahra Reddy for taking up the fourth-phase land distribution programme in the State.
According to a press release here, APCC official spokesperson N Tulasi Reddy said the government has launched the distribution programme to distribute 1.67 lakh acres of land to more than one lakh poor families to fulfill the promise made during the 2004 assembly poll.
Stating that the Congress-led UPA government was committed to improve the living standards of the poor, Mr Reddy said loans would also be provided to the beneficiaries to till the land for agriculture purpose.
Alleging that the opposition Telugu Desam Party (TDP) was politicising the welfare development programmes of the government, Mr Reddy said the government accorded priority to fill the vacancies in the government departments this year by providing employment to the educated people.
