AAI to construct Greenfield Airport shortly: Khandu
Itanagar, Jan 19 (UNI) The Airports Authority of India (AAI) will start construction work on the Greenfield Airport at Karsingsa near here shortly, Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Dorjee Khandu said.
The Chief Minister, while interacting with a delegation of the Nyishi Federal Council, led by its president Tayum Son here yesterday, disclosed that the Centre had already prepared the Detailed Project Report (DPR) for the airport and the work would start soon.
The delegation had called on Mr Khandu to submit a three-point memorandum, urging him to ensure early construction of the airport, besides construction of the Hoj-Potin road and raising of the Arunachal Regiment in the Army.
Mr Khandu, while responding to the memorandum, informed that the state government had already initiated the work on the Hoj-Potin road.
He also assured the delegation that he would take up the issue of raising an Arunachal Scout in the line of Ladakh Scout in the Army with Prime Minister Manmohan Singh during his visit to the state later this month.
