Russia, ICRC discuss aid delivery to ''hot spots'' in Pak, Afghan
Moscow, Jan 15 (UNI) Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov today discussed the issues of delivering humanitarian aid to ''hot spots'' in Pakistan, Afghanistan, Sudan and Somalia with the President of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) Jakob Kellenberger.
''There are a lot of 'hot spots' in the world, where people suffer. We would like to touch on the issue of assisting people in Pakistan, Afghanistan, Sudan and Somalia, on whose territory extremists are active,'' Mr Lavrov said at a meeting with Mr Kellenberger here.
The ICRC president said the organisation would like to extend and intensify the dialogue with Russia.
''One of the main goals of our visit is to extend and intensify the dialogue with Russia at various levels,'' Interfax news agency quoted him as saying.
