Tripura, Meghalaya, Nagaland to go to assembly polls
New Delhi, Jan 14 (UNI) Assembly elections will be held in Tripura on February 23, in Meghalaya on March 3 and in Nagaland on March 5, the Election Commission announced today.
Counting will be held in Tripura and Meghalaya on March 7 and in Nagaland on March 8.
Nominations will open on January 30 in Tripura, on February 8 in Meghalaya and on February 9 on Nagaland.
The last date for withdrawal is February 9 in Tripura, February 18 in Meghalaya and February 20 in Nagaland.
The model code of conduct comes into force in the three states with immediate effect, Chief Election Commissioner N Gopalaswamy told reporters.
