Publishing house to showcase 22 books at Chennai Fair

Chennai, Jan 11 (UNI) A popular city-based publishing house, Manimekalai Prasuram, will release 22 books under various titles on January 13 during the annual Chennai Book Fair, which began here a couple of days ago.

Manimekalai Prasuram Managing Director Ravi Tamilvanan told newspersons here yesterday that the books would cover a variety of topics, including tips on success in life and biographies.

The books included an English book on ''Complete Oral Health Guide'', written by Bangalore-based dentist Mageswari, the Tamil version of Shakespeare's famous play Othello by Pazha Mani and life history of Tamil Nadu Chief Minister and DMK supremo M Karunanidhi titled ''Dr Kalaignar: A Guide for Human Life'' by Akbar Ghouse.

He said more than 2,500 books of Manimekalai Prasuram were on display and sale at the book fair.

The publishing house was holding talks with an official in London to launch e-books by releasing books in CD formats and on internet.

''The investment will be on higher side. Talks were on with a person in London and we hope to launch it in six months' time,'' he said.

Manimekalai Prasuram had already released a CD version of 1,000 essays written by his brother, writer and journalist Lena Tamilvanan, running into 45 hours.
