PM to lay foundation of Godhra-Maksi rail line on Feb 8

Jhabua, MP, Jan 11 (UNI) Prime Minister Manmohan Singh would lay the foundation of construction work of much-awaited Godhra-Jhabua-Maksi rail line in tribal-dominated Jhabua on February 8.

Rail Lao Samiti General Secretary Dilip Singh Verma said Congress President Sonia Gandhi and Railway Minister Lalu Prasad were expected to be present on the occasion.

Dr Singh will reach Indore by flight at 1040 hours on February 8.

He would leave for Jhabua by helicopter and lay foundation of the rail line at 1135 hours.

He would address a public meeting on the occasion and leave for New Delhi via Indore. The district administration has geared up for welcoming the PM.

The work on the Jhabua-Maksi rail line has started about after 18 years. The then Railway Minister Madhavrao Scindia had approved the rail line in 1989.
