Shimla, Jan 11 (UNI) With the bouts of snow in the higher reaches, prevailing heavy overcast conditions are likely to bring in more snow and rains in the isolated places.
The Met office here said that despite more than 134 cm of snow recorded in Keylong, district headquarters of Lahaul and Spiti, moderate to heavy snowfall may take place again.
Earlier, Dhundi in the same district has received 125 cm, Solang Nullah 120 cm Bhang Manali 70 cm, Patsio 60 cm of snow.
District headquarters of Lahaul and Spiti, Keylong recorded to have received 11 cm of fresh snow. Recorded snow at Bhang Manali by the 0830 hours today was 13 cm, Solang Nullah has received 20 cm, Patsio 26 cm, Dhundi 58 cm of fresh snowfall till 0830 hours. Met office forecast said that over cast may again cause minor snow.
Temperature in the higher reaches had carried variation and minimum recorded temperature at Patsio was minus 12.0, Keylong minus 6.3, Dhundi minus 5.0, Kalpa minus 3.1, Sloang Nullah minus 2.0 and Bhang Manali 0.0 degree Celsius. No changes in the temperatures have been recorded in these snow-ridden locations.
In the lower regions of the state temperature hovered between 0.3 degree Celsius to 9.1 degrees Celsius. Minimum temperature in Shimla is recorded 0.3 degree Celsius, while the temperature at Solan remained 4.0 degree Celsius with Bhunter 4.2, Palampur 4.5, Una 5.8, Sundenagar 5.1, Dharamshala 8.5 and Nahan 9.1 degree Celsius.
The Met office here said that as compared to yesterday, mercury has registered slight dip in the both lower and high regions. More snow and showers in the isolated parts are likely to take place.
In lower parts of the state, Dharamshala tops the tally with recording 7.2 mm of rainfall following Sundernagar 7.1 mm and Shimla barley received 0.9 mm of rains.
