HC notice to Punjab govt against fee hike in medical colleges
Chandigarh, Jan 10 (UNI) The Division Bench of Punjab and Haryana High Court today issued notice to the Punjab government on a petition challenging increase of fees in private medical colleges in Punjab.
The Punjab medical colleges parents' association had challenged the notification of the Punjab government dated August 1 and August 3, 2007.
After hearing the arguments of the counsel of Association Justice Ashutosh Mohanta and Justice K C Puri has issued notice of motion to the Punjab government for April 21.
The counsel of Association had argued that the ''tremendous'' fee hike by the Punjab Government was against the law settled by the Supreme Court and the students were suffering because of it.
