Cabinet clears signing of 2 MoUs with Italy, China

New Delhi, Jan 10 (UNI) The Union Cabinet today cleared three MoUs between India and Italy, and China to be signed during Prime Minister Manmohan Singh's coming visit to these countries.

The MoU with China is for cooperation in the Rail setor, and it will be valid for a period of three years.

Of the two MoUs with Italy, the first relates to the field of agriculture and phytosanitary issues, and the second is about cooperation in the agro-food sector.

The MoUs would promote further bilateral cooperation and joint activities in these areas through exchange of technologocal know-how and experts, Minister for Parliamentary Affairs Priya Ranjan Dasmunsi said here briefing reporters on today's Cabinet meeting.

Besides, the Cabinet gave approval to signing of a five-year agreement with Hungary on cooperation in the field of agriculture and allied sectors.

It also gave ex-post facto approval to the signed MoU in the field of health among India, Brazil and South Africa, said Mr Dasmunsi.
