AP to distribute 1.66 lakh acres to landless poor

Vijayawada, Jan 10 (UNI) Andhra Pradesh Revenue Minister Dharmana Prasada Rao today said the government would distribute 1.66 lakh acres of land to the landless poor under the fourth phase of land distribution programme in the state.

Talking to newspersons, he said in the fourth phase, 11,035 acres would be distributed in Krishna district, 9745 in Guntur district, 1203 in Prakasam, 5127 in Khammam and 4632 in West Godavari district.

He said the Congress government had taken up several welfare measures for the poor.

On Left parties' land struggle, he said, ''It is unnecessary. The government has distributed land to the landless poor.'' UNI XR AJ PK RAI2350
