Mayawati govt destroying freedom of local bodies: BJP

Lucknow, Jan 7 (UNI) BJP today charged the Mayawati-led BSP government in Uttar Pradesh with trying to destroy the dignity and freedom of the local bodies in the state.

Addressing a one-day meeting of party mayors here, state BJP president Ramapati Ram Tripathi alleged the state government was hampering urban development in the state and was working with bias.

''BJP controls nine out of 12 municipal corporations in UP...therefore BSP is working with prejudice,'' he added.
