Kolkata, Jan 7 (UNI) Muzaffar Khan, leader of Trinamool Congress Minority Cell, today demanded the intervention of Civil Aviation Minister Praful Patel and All India Haj Committee chairman Iqbal Ahmed Sardouragi regarding the missing baggages of several Haj pilgrims in Kolkata.

Khan in identical letters to Sardouragi and Mr Patel alleged that Air India's handling of the baggages of the pilgrims after their arrival at Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose International (NSCBI) airport in Kolkata had been extremely ''shabby''.

He complained that many of the pilgrims despite their arriving here several days ago were yet to get their baggages.

Hasan Raje Kalim, a resident of Patna, who landed at NSCBI airport on December 27 after completing the pilgrimage, was yet to get back one of his baggages.

Air India officials claimed that they were doing their best to locate the luggages which would take some time to be sorted out and sent to their respective owners.

Yesterday Haj pilgrims returning from Jeddah also complained of lack of facilities given by Air India officials at the NSCBI airport.

They complained that they were not provided with proper accommodation and served food despite their transit flight delayed by several hours.
