Plea to hold official meetings during working hours
Tiruchirapalli, Jan 6 (UNI) The Tamil Nadu Development Service Officers Association today appealed to the State Government to instruct the Secretary and Director of the State Rural Development Department not to hold any meeting related to the departmental activities on holidays.
Talking to newspersons here, after the Association's annual general body meeting, its State President V Muniasamy said a resolution to this effect was adopted at the meeting.
The resolution pointed out that by attending the meetings held on holidays and sometimes throughout night, the health of the officers had deteriorated.
The government's decision to implement the National Rural Employment Act from April, would add to their suffering, Mr Muniasamy added.
