Audi to invest 20 mln euros in India by 2015
New Delhi, Jan 3 (UNI) Eyeing a bigger share of the fast-growing luxury car market, Volkswagen's auto unit Audi today said it will invest 20 million euros by 2015 in the country, and start assembling of the A4 model here.
Audi has already invested 10 million euros in its assembly line in the group facility in Aurangabad and will invest an additional 20 million euros to enhance production, a company statement said.
The new Audi 4 will be assembled from late 2008, it added.
Audi has recently began assembling the A6 sedan from completely knocked down kits, which were earlier imported from Germany.
The firm will also roll out more than 2,000 units of the A6 by 2015, it said adding that more than 300 A6 sedans will be assembled in a single-shift operation in the Aurangabad unit by 2008.
Audi also imports its A8, Q7 and TT models, and expects to sell around 3,000 cars by 2010.
