Haryana to organise 'Youth Week' from Jan 12

Chandigarh, Jan 1 (UNI) The Haryana government today decided to organise 'Youth Day' and 'Youth Week' from January 12 to January 19 at the District and the Division levels in the state.

Giving this information, a spokesman of the Sports and Youth Affairs Department said various educational, cultural and sports programmes would be organised during this week for inspiring the youth to participate in different welfare and development activities for the benefit of common man.

On the occasion of of Swami Vivekanand's birthday, which falls on January 12, a Yuva Day would be organised at the Division level.

On the day, the youth would be apprised about the works, life and teachings pertaining to social upliftment and spiritual values, propounded by Swami Vivekanand.

Experts, scholars and prominent personalities would be invited during these programmes to express their views on the life and teachings of Swami Vivekanand, he added.
