1149 pilgrims leave for Amarnath yatra

Jammu, July 13: A fresh batch of 1,149 pilgrims today left for the Amarnath cave shrine in south Kashmir from the base camp here, official sources said.

The 13th batch of yatris, including 247 women, 24 children and 151 sadhus, left for Nunwan and Baltal yatra camps in 42 vehicles at 0619 hrs, the sources said.

With this, a total 24,585 pilgrims have taken up Shri Amarnath pilgrimage officially from yatra base came here at the MA stadium since the commencement of yatra on July 2.

Bad weather conditions in the valley with rains and landslides en route the cave shrine make the track slippery and risky.
