Sanjay Dutt's fate to be known on or after Jun 19

Mumbai, June 14: Cine actor Sanjay Dutt, convicted in the 1993 Mumbai serial blasts case, will come to know his fate on June 19 or thereafter.

Dutt today appeared before the designated TADA court which directed him and the other convicts out on bail to appear before it on June 19.

As many as 100 accused have been held guilty in the serial blasts case, and the judge has awarded sentences to 76 of them till date.

The remaining 24 include Dutt and his three friends -- Kersi Adajenia, Russi Mulla and Yusuf Nullwala, all of whom have applied for relief under Probation of Offenders Act.

The judge has received the report of the probation officer but the contents were not disclosed during the last hearing.

Meanwhile, Judge Kode has also directed three other convicts out on bail to appear before the court on June 19. The three include dismissed Customs collector S K Thapa, Imtiyaz Gawate (an aide of Tiger Memon), and Rubina Memon, sister-in-law of prime absconding accused Tiger Memon. Thapa and Gawate are suffering from various ailments.

Besides them, others on whom the sentences will be passed are bomb planters and the three Memon brothers -- Yakub, Essa and Yusuf.

Others include Mohammed Shoeb Ghasar, Asgar Mukadam, Shahnawaz Qureshi, Abdul Gani Ismail Turk, Parvez Nasir Shaikh, Nasim Bharmare and Mohammed Iqbal Shaikh, Mustaq Tarani and Mohammed Farooq Pawale -- all were part of the conspiracy and took active part in planting of bombs at different places in Mumbai before March 12, 1993.

Five members of the group -- Bashir Ahmed Usman Gani, Zakir Hussain Noor Mohammed Shaikh, Abdul Akhtar Khan, Firoz Amani Malik, and Moin Qureshi -- hurled grenades at the fishermen's colony at Mahim.
