The Judge has not favoured me: Sanjay Dutt

New Delhi, June 13: On criticism that the judicial authorities had shown favouritism towards him during the trial in the 1993 Mumbai blasts case, Bollywood actor Sanjay Dutt today said the Judiciary in case had always been impartial towards everyone.

Speaking in an exclusive interview to NDTV, with days left to go before he is sentenced in the 1993 Bomb Blasts case, Sanjay Dutt said he felt he had been punished enough and that it was time he was set free.

''I have been in the honourable court for fifteen years and there are no favourites and no favouritism of any sort to anybody. It's always been fair. They look at the matter, they see what the evidence is, what the thing is,'' he said in an interview to NDTV to be aired tonight.

In reply to a question, the actor felt that Justice Kode was always fair to everyone and that there was no favourable treatment just because he happened to be Sanjay Dutt.

''(Justice Kode has been fair) With everybody. I can say that with total conviction,''dutt said.

In reply to another question, he said, ''I do feel sometimes that in someways, I have been punished enough, in what I have done. I just say I am a good human being, a good citizen and I love my country.'' Sanjay Dutt said it was a feeling of tremendous relief to be absolved from TADA by the court and charged under the Arms Act.

''It was just a different thing altogether. I nearly cried.

Sitting there in the box it was such a relief. See I tell a lot of people this. It is that everybody, every human being in the world takes freedom for granted. And it is taken for granted. But once it is taken away from you, you realize how valuable freedom is. And I have realized that,'' Dutt said.

Asked if he had prepared himself for an eventuality that things did not go the way he hoped, the actor said, ''See you have to think both ways and you have to be prepared both ways. But, I feel God is great.''
