'Democrats win not to change dynamics of N-deal'

New Delhi, Nov 10: The United States today made it clear that the ''dynamics'' of the Indo-US nuclear deal would not change despite the drubbing by Democracts of the Republicans at the recent legislative elections, asserting that the Bush Administration had the deal on top of its priorities.

''The dynamics (of the deal) will not change....we want to do it as fast as possible. The US has made it clear that we want t implement it,'' US Assistant Secretary of State Richard Boucher said at a press conference here today.

Mr Boucher who arrived here last night for talks with Indian officials, met Foreign Secretary Shiv Shankar Menon today and held discussions on a wide range of issues including counter-terrorism, regional instability and neighbourhood besides Indo-US relations.

He said President George Bush was very hopeful that the matter would be taken up in the 'lame duck' session of the Congress that begins on November 13.

He said the President was very keen and there was ''very solid support'' to Indo-US relations in the Congress.

He, however, said it was hard to predict what would happen in the 'lame duck' session.

''The Congress is extremely supportive...'' he added.
