Rajnath abandons Yatra, rushes to Mumbai
Jalandhar, May 3: Bharatiya Janta Party (BJP) President Rajnath Singh today abandoned his ''Rashtriya Surakshya Yatra'' in Punjab and rushed to Mumbai to visit senior party leader Pramod Mahajan whose condition has reportedly worsened further at the Hinduja Hospital.
Former BJP state president and former Punjab Minister Manoranjan Kalia told UNI here ''Mr Singh is leaving for Mumbai from Jammu to see Mr Mahajan''.
As per the scheduled programme, Mr Singh was to begin the Punjab leg of his yatra from Amritsar tomorrow.
The yatra was to pass through Punjab for two days on May 4 and 5 .
With this sudden development, the fate of the yatra, which was scheduled to culminate in New Delhi on May 10, remains uncertain.
