Wayanad Landslide Tragedy: Kerala Government Issues Emergency Helpline Numbers; Many Dead, Hundreds Missing
A tragic incident of landslide was reported on Tuesday morning from Kerala's Wayanad, where, five people including 2 children lost their lives due to natural calamity. Reportedly hundreds are still missing or feared trapped due to continuous heavy rain.
The adverse weather affected Wayanad's Mundakkai, Chooralmala, Attamala, and Noolpuzha areas.

Teams of the National Disaster Relief Force (NDRF), State Disaster Relief Force (SDRF), Fire Brigade, and local police are trying their best to help and rescue people, but harsh weather conditions are creating hurdles and making it difficult for the officials.
According to reports, a large number of locals are still feared trapped.
Meanwhile, authorities have launched helpline numbers for people worried about their relatives and friends being stranded due to the landslide.
People can dial two helpline numbers: 9656938689 and 8086010833 for emergency assistance set up by the State Health Department.
Taking cognizance of the matter, Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan has directed officials to provide every possible help to stranded people. Two Air Force helicopters will also assist rescue teams in the search and rescue operations.
Chief Minister also highlighted that all government agencies are actively participating and he is monitoring the situation continuously.
