Sabarimala Pilgrimage: 22 Million+ Visitors, Rs 163 Crore Revenue In A Month

In a striking display of devotion and generosity, the Sabarimala Ayyappa temple in Kerala has reported a significant increase in both visitor numbers and financial contributions. Over the course of 29 days, this venerated South Indian religious site has seen a surge in pilgrims, with 22,67,956 individuals making their journey to the temple.

This represents an increase of 4.51 lakh devotees compared to the previous year. In tandem with the growth in pilgrim numbers, the temple's earnings have also seen a notable rise, amassing a total of Rs 163.89 crore.

The Travancore Temple Board revealed these figures during a recent press conference, highlighting the temple's remarkable financial and visitor growth. P.S. Prashanth, the President of the Temple Board, shared that this year's earnings marked a Rs 22.76 crore increase from the previous period. A substantial portion of this income, amounting to Rs 82.67 crore, was generated from the sale of prasad, underscoring the significant economic impact of the temple's religious offerings.

The Sabarimala Ayyappa temple, renowned for its spiritual significance, has not only managed to attract a larger crowd but also increased its financial contributions considerably. "This is 4.51 lakh more devotees than last time," P.S. Prashanth emphasized, pointing out the significant rise in the number of pilgrims visiting the temple.
