Police, forest officials, and locals arrived at the scene. Local reports claim forest department protocol requires the collector's presence before moving the body.

Reports suggest an increased presence of elephants in the forested area near Thulappally. Biju, the victim, worked as an auto driver and is survived by his wife, Daisy, and children, Jinson and Bijoy.

This incident marks the second fatal elephant attack in the Thulappally forest area in less than a year. In May 2023, two individuals Chacko (65) and Thomas Antony (65) were killed in a similar attack near a rubber tapping area.

The recurring incidents have sparked concerns among residents, highlighting the need for stricter measures to address human-wildlife conflict in the area.
