Kurup will be charged under IPC section 204 and if found guilty, he will have to undergo imprisonment.

Swetha Menon, who had filed a complaint against Kurup for insulting her during an event organised as part of President's Trophy Boat Race in Kerala. But 2 days later, she withdrew the complaint, accepting Kurup's apology.

However an FIR was filed as per her complaint. Times Now revealed the details of the FIR in which Swetha has reportedly said, Kurup caused her insult and she felt as a woman she was degraded. She also said that Kurup touched her in an improper manner.

Politicians from opposition parties have already taken the case against Kurup as a trumpcard against congress. Parties have been demanding Kurup's resignation. Meanwhile, Youth Congress slammed Swetha Menon for raising 'false' allegations.
