Kerala Weather Update

Moderate rainfall with gusts up to 40 km/h is anticipated in isolated areas across all other districts in Kerala. Residents are advised to stay alert, especially those in hilly regions, as conditions may worsen, the IMD warns.

Meanwhile, at least 43 people have been killed and hundreds are feared trapped after massive landslides hit the hilly areas near Meppadi in Kerala's Wayanad district on Tuesday. Multiple agencies, including the NDRF and the Army, have been deployed for rescue operations.

The villages of Mundakkai, Chooralmala, Attamala, and Noolpuzha were among the worst affected.

The Indian Army deployed 225 personnel, including medical teams. Two Air Force helicopters, a Mi-17 and an ALH (Advanced Light Helicopter), have also been deployed for the rescue efforts.

On the other hand, several trains has been partially cancelled due to waterclogging on tracks.
