Paul Muthoot Murder Case Verdict : Life term for 9 accused

Thiruvananthapuram, Sep 1: A special CBI court in Kerala announced verdict on the sensational Paul Muthoot murder case today, Sep 1.

13 convicts have been found guilty. The CBI special court awarded lifetime imprisonment for 9 convicts.

According to the observation of the court, the 9 convicts including the first accused Jayachandran and second accused 'Kaari' Satheesh, a professional killer, are directly linked to the murder.

Satheesh and 9 others were found guilty of murder and conspiracy.

The other four were declared as guilty of conspiracy. They have been awarded 3 years prison term and Rs 5,000 fine for destroying evidence.

Earlier in the day, the Kerala court had convicted 13 accused in the murder case of Paul Muthoot.

Paul Muthoot George, son of prominent Kerala businessman and Muthoot Finance Group chairman M G George, was stabbed to death on August 23, 2009.

According to the investigation team, Paul George was murdered by a gang at a deserted place near Alappuzha town in the wee hours of August 23.

Paul was travelling with two gangsters - Om Prakash and Puthanpalam Rajesh. He was attacked and killed by a group of men on a tempo traveller.
