Kerala Gold Rate Today: 24K Gold Drops Slightly, Silver Also Declines

Gold prices in Kerala witnessed a slight dip on Wednesday, March 11, reflecting a marginal correction in the bullion market after recent fluctuations. The latest update at 12:05 PM on Bullions website shows that the price of 24-karat gold has softened slightly, offering some relief to buyers, although the overall rates remain at historically high levels.

According to data, 24-karat gold is currently priced at ₹16,357 per gram, taking the rate for 10 grams to ₹1,63,570. For larger quantities, 100 grams of 24-karat gold costs ₹16,35,700, while 1 kilogram is valued at ₹1,63,57,000. The price of one ounce stands at ₹4,63,713, while one tola is priced at ₹1,90,785.

Despite these elevated rates, gold continues to remain one of the most preferred investment options in Kerala, particularly due to its cultural significance in weddings and festivals. The precious metal also enjoys strong demand as a safe-haven asset whenever global economic uncertainty rises.

22-Karat Gold Rates

The price of 22-karat gold, which is commonly used for jewellery in Kerala, is currently ₹14,994 per gram, while 10 grams costs ₹1,49,939. Similarly, 100 grams is priced at ₹14,99,392, and 1 kilogram stands at ₹1,49,93,917.

Other gold purity levels are also witnessing similar trends. 20-karat gold is priced at ₹13,631 per gram, while 18-karat gold stands at ₹12,268 per gram. Lower purity gold varieties such as 16-karat, 14-karat, 12-karat and 10-karat are currently priced at ₹10,905, ₹9,542, ₹8,179, and ₹6,815 per gram, respectively.

Slight Decline in Prices

Market data indicates that 24-karat gold prices have slipped by around 0.29%, with the previous benchmark price for 10 grams recorded at ₹1,64,040. Analysts say the minor correction is linked to fluctuations in global bullion markets, currency movements and profit-booking by investors.

Although the fall is modest, jewellers believe that even a small drop often encourages retail buyers who have been waiting for a favourable entry point.

Silver Prices Also Ease

Silver prices in Kerala have also registered a slight decline. Silver 999 fine, considered the purest form, is currently priced at ₹275 per gram and ₹2,752 for 10 grams. The price of 100 grams stands at ₹27,518, while 1 kilogram is valued at ₹2,75,180.

Other silver variants include 925 sterling silver at ₹255 per gram, 900 coin silver at ₹248 per gram, and 800 German silver at ₹220 per gram.

Data shows that silver prices have fallen by about 0.90%, with the earlier price of ₹2,77,690 per kilogram witnessing a modest correction.

Bullion traders note that gold prices continue to remain volatile due to a combination of global economic factors, including interest-rate expectations, currency movements and geopolitical developments. Despite the short-term fluctuations, demand in Kerala traditionally remains strong, particularly during wedding seasons and major festivals.
